Pep Guardiola named LMA manager of the year

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been named the English League Managers Association manager of the year.

It comes after a year during he led City to the Premier League title with a record 100 points, scoring 106 goals and dropping just 14 points all season.

After finishing the season with a 1-0 win at Southampton, City also secured a record 32 wins in one campaign.

His side also claimed the League Cup, beating Arsenal 3-0 in the final at Wembley.

The Spaniard in winning the award beat off competition from the likes of Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool and Cardiff manager Neil Warnock who was presented with a special achievement award after securing his eighth career promotion.

It was his second trophy of the night after winning the LMA Premier League Manager of the Year award.

Nuno Espirito Santo won Championship manager of the year, Shrewsbury’s Paul Hurst scooped the League One prize and Coleman won the League Two trophy.

Emma Hayes was named the FA Women’s Super League 1 manager of the year.

The Women’s Super League 1 manager of the year was Emma Hayes of Chelsea Ladies and Lee Burch of Millwall Lionesses won the Super League 2 prize.
