Unemployed persons in St Ann and St Mary urged to attend job fair

by May 15th, 2018

A group of concerned citizens from St. Mary, has taken-up the challenge, to help reduce unemployment in St. Ann and St. Mary.

According to the residents, despite the fact that unemployment is trending downwards, far more can be done, to ensure these rates continue to decline.

They say, the many studies done, show that the high unemployment rate among the nation’s youth has huge implications for crime and violence in Jamaica, and they feel compelled to play their part, in stemming this negative impact.

One of the organisers Dawn Lobban explains that the residents have collaborated with HEART Trust NTA, and St. Mary charities, to stage career link-up 2018.

It’s scheduled for tomorrow, at the Spring Valley Community Centre, for residents of St. Ann St. Mary.

Ms. Lobban says the event will be more than an opportunity for jobs, as career counselling and other such activities, will be available.
