Former Edwin Allen High School thrower Tara Sue Barnett has been named Western Athletic Conference championships most outstanding field performer in the United States

The Grand Canyon University senior set a meet record of 60.74 metres to win the women’s discus.

Barnett also won bronze in the hammer throw with a new personal best 50.20metres surpassing her previous best of 49.74metres helping the lopes win WAC championship title.

This adds to the weight throw gold and shot put bronze she won at the indoor conference championships in February.
