Two new venues – Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles and Allianz Field in Minnesota, are among a record group of 15 stadiums that will be used during the 2019 edition of Concacaf Gold Cup in the United States.
The event to be staged in the summer of next year has been expanded to include a record 16 teams to mark the 15th anniversary of the biennial competition.
In addition to the announced U.S. venues, 2019 Gold Cup matches will also be played in Central America and the Caribbean for the first time in the tournament’s 15 editions. These markets and venues will be announced in coming months.
Banc Of California Stadium
The six teams that participated in the Hexagonal round of the World Cup qualifiers — Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, and the United States – have earned automatic spots.
The remaining 10 will qualify via the Concacaf Nations League to be played on FIFA match dates in September, October, and November of 2018, and March of 2019.
Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz will open their account against the Cayman Islands on September 2.
