by May 20th, 2018

Chief Justice Bryan Sykes says proper data collection in the islands courts is an important method of making courts more efficient.

Addressing the launch of the Case Information Statistical System, at Jewels Dunns River Resort in St. Ann today (May 20), the Chief Justice says with proper data collection, he can be fully aware of the operations of the courts, including staffing and the disposal rate of cases.

The Chief Justice noted that statistics will also enable the court to identify why certain things happen and for the reason to be analysed and the proper solutions put in place.

He says persons visiting the court for any reason, must always be guaranteed a pleasant experience even if he or she is being given a custodial sentence.

He says service delivery must be efficient and of a high quality in order to make the public feel they are being treated with respect.
