by May 24th, 2018

Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta has joined Japanese top-flight side Vissel Kobe.

Iniesta won 32 trophies at Barcelona, where he made 674 senior appearances, having joined the youth set-up aged 12.

His last game for the club came in Sunday’s La Liga win over Real Sociedad.

The 34 year old, who will reportedly earn $30 million annually, will wear the number 8 shirt with his new side currently 6th in the J-League after 15 games, having finished 9th last season.

He could get his first taste of action in the J-League when Vissel Kobe play away to V-Varen Nagasaki on July 18.

Iniesta, who scored the winning goal in the 2010 World Cup final against the Netherlands, was recently selected for Spain’s squad for next month’s tournament in Russia.

The Spain international tweeted he was going to his “new home” where he will now join former Arsenal and Germany forward Lukas Podolski.
