25 % reduction in case backlog

There has been a 25 percent reduction in the backlog of cases in the parish courts, as of March this year.

The was revealed by Director of the Justice Reform Implementation Unit, Althea McBean, at a  post sectoral budget press briefing yesterday, with Justice Minister Delroy Chuck.

She said, over the past four years, judges have been working to reduce the number of cases.

In addition, the justice reform director said, emphasis will be placed on reducing the backlog of cases, in the Supreme and the Appeal courts.
