Police in Hanover seized four firearms and 34 assorted rounds of ammunition in an operation in Land Top, Chester Castle this morning (May 27).

Police responded to shots being fired in the area about 6:15 a-m and on their arrival, seized the guns, ammunition and other items.

The weapons are one Glock 40 pistol with a magazine containing five point 40 rounds of ammunition; one Springfield HS 2000 pistol with a magazine containing six 9 mm rounds of ammunition; one 9 mm pistol with a magazine containing seven 9 mm rounds of ammunition; and one Smith and Wesson 9 mm pistol.

Also seized were seven point 45 cartridges, nine 9 mm cartridges, a cap with ‘police’ written on it, three masks and 120 lead sheets.

No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.

The Police High Command has commended the hard working men and women of the area one police division who continue to rid the nation’s streets of illegal weapons.
