The Child Protection and Family Services agency is investigating a critical incident involving two wards of the state, at the Strathmore Gardens child care facility, last Wednesday.

In a statement, the agency says having learnt about the incident and in accordance with its standard operating procedures, it dispatched monitoring officers, and a team of social workers, who are conducting investigations.

Both wards were taken to the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse, (Cisoca), and the female ward was taken to the hospital for medical examination.

The agency says, it has since relocated both wards, who are currently being counselled.

Parents have also been advised, and meetings have been scheduled, to discuss the matter.

The Child Protection Agency says, it continues to investigate the matter with respect to the home, and is receiving reports from the management, who had care and custody of the children.
