The legal woes of dancehall entertainer Tommy Lee Sparta are nowhere near over.
Tommy Lee Sparta and his lawyer should have been back in court on Monday for another hearing in his ongoing lottery scamming case. However, the case had to be delayed with Tommy Lee’s lawyer Ernie Smith being absent.
Presiding judge Chester Stamp was then forced to adjourn the matter for the 6th time, and described the situation as unsatisfactory, as Mr. Smith was also absent from a previous hearing.
In issuing his warning Judge Stamp noted that if attorneys are double booked on the day of a trial, then protocol allows them to send another lawyer to start the matter instead of applying for an adjournment.
Tommy Lee’s lawyer in this lottery scamming case Ernie Smith, was said to have been currently engaged in another court matter in St.Elizabeth.
In 2016 Tommy Lee Sparta born Leroy Russell, was put before the court for breaches relating to lottery scamming.
The new trial date has been set for November 14, 2018.
