GSAT results show improvement in all subjects except mathematics

Although the March 2018 Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) results, showed an increase in four of the five areas which were tested, there was a slight decline in mathematics.

That’s according to Education Minister Ruel Reid.

Speaking at a media briefing this afternoon (Jun 5) Mr. Reid says, the 1.2% decline in mathematics was apparent, after the students sat the Grade Four Numeracy Test.

In the meantime, the minister says 100 percent of the 39,510 students who sat the exam, will be placed in full seven year high schools.

The results reveal that science and communication task, had the highest passes- 7. 9 % and 5 .5 %, respectively.

Results will be available on Thursday to all primary schools that registered for online grade access.
