Former South African cricketer Johan Botha is set to become the coach of the Guyana Amazon Warrior for 2018 season.
Reports are that Botha will take over the reins of the side which have never won the tournament.
In the meantime it has been confirmed that CPL action will be in Guyana this season.
The confirmation came yesterday after Permanent Secretary of the ministry of Social Cohesion with responsibility for culture, youth and sport Melissa Tucker, and team operations manager of the Guyana Amazon warriors, Omar Khan, signed the host venue agreement.
Guyana will host five games with the Guyana Amazon Warriors set to play st Kitts & Nevis Patriots on August 9 in the opening game.
The three time finalists will face the St Lucia Stars on august 11, Barbados Tridents on August 12, Jamaica Tallawahs on September 8 and Trinbago knight Riders on September 9.
There is also the possibility of two playoff matches in Guyana on September 11 and 12………that is yet to be confirmed .
