Host Jamaica remains on course for regional cricket double

Led by a fine all-round performance from Chedean nation  host Jamaica remained on course for the regional double after securing a seven wicket victory over the Windward Islands in the cricket West Indies Women’s super 50 tournament at Kensington Park today.

Nation stroked an unbeaten 72 as the Jamaicans chasing 157 for victory achieved the win for the loss of three wickets in the 29th over.

Captain Stafanie Taylor supported with 40 while Jodi Ann Morgan chipped in with 32.

Earlier nation took 2 for 19 as the Windward Islands were dismissed for 156 in the 41st over – captain Stacy Ann Adams topscored with 43 for the Windwards.

Over at Chedwin Park Barbados defeated Guyana by six wickets.

Guyana first posted 162 for 7 with Shermaine Campbell topscoring with 48 as Hayely Matthews took 2 for 30.

Matthews returned to slam a topscore 84 as Barbados romped to the win at 164 for 4 in the 24th over.

At Sabina park Trinidad and Tobago defeated the Leeward Islands by 188 runs.

Trinidad first racked up 243 in the 50th over with Shania Abdool topscoring with 45.

This against Amanda Edwards who bagged 6 for 56.

The Leewards were then blown away for 55 as Karishma Ramharack bagged 4 for 11 while Kamara Ragoobar captured 3 for 3.
