Colombia re-ignited their World Cup hopes after thrashing Poland 3 nil  to send them tumbling out of the tournament.

Defender Yerry Mina scored the opener in the 40th minute with captain Radamel Falcao and winger Juan Cuadrado putting the gloss on the group h win with two goals in five minutes in the last quarter

The Colombians now move to a point behind both Senegal and Japan who had earlier battled to a two all draw.

Harry Kane struck a hat-trick as England recorded 6-1 thrashing of Panama to ease into the last 16.

This was England’s biggest-ever world cup win and it featured two penalties by Kane then a fortuitous deflection off his heel which handed him his hat trick

Kane, was the third England player to score a hat-trick at a world cup following Geoff Hurst in the 1966 final and Gary Lineker against Poland in the 1986 tournament.

Defender john stones was also among the goals scoring twice while Jesse Lingard also got on the scoresheet.

With the result Belgium also secured their passage to the round of 16 as both teams will meet to decide the group winners on Thursday.

Senegal thought they had claimed all three points as Moussa Wague drilled the ball into the top of the net in the 71st minute to make it 2-1, after Sadio mane’s fortuitous first-half opener was cancelled out by Takashi Inui’s curling shot, but Honda ensured things ended level and deservedly so.

Veteran Keisuke Honda, then became the first Japanese player to score in three different world cups, when he came off the bench with his team down 2-1 and fired the equalizer in 12 minutes from time.
