Brazil great Kaka believes striker Neymar should not be blamed for the country’s under-whelming world cup campaign at the just concluded showpiece in Russia.
Despite scoring twice in Russia, the world’s most expensive player Neymar was described as having under-performed by other former Brazilian stars Ronaldo and Cafu.
Neymar was mocked on social media throughout the tournament for perceived play-acting in response to opposition challenges.
Kaka maintained that it was the entire Brazilian national team that failed in the FIFA World Cup and the loss in the quarter-finals could not be attributed to a single player.
Himself a world cup winner in 2002, 92-time international kaka claimed Neymar did not receive enough credit for his efforts in the loss to Belgium, and that he is unfairly treated.
