A prize purse pool of 14 million dollars will be up for grabs at next year’s ICC Cricket World Cup in England.

That’s an increase of four million dollars on the total prize monies front the 2015 world cup.

The winner of the tournament is set to collect 5 million dollars an increase of 1.1 million dollars.

The runner up will take away 2.2 million dollars an increase of 450 thousand dollars while the two losing semi-finalists are set to take away one million each an increase of 400 thousand dollars.

The losing quarter finalists will take home 500 thousand dollars while there will be 50 thousand dollars for every group match win.

The ICC has been increasing the prize money with every passing world cup.

The 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup had a total of 5 million dollars to distribute as prize money

The 2011 ICC cricket Corld Cup had a total of 8 million dollars to distribute while for the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup the prize monies was increased to 10 million dollars.
