VP Records responds to Spice

by July 30th, 2018

VP Records has released an official statement following Spice social media rant about their nonperformance after 10 years.

In a statement sent to Music News, the New York-based record label says:

VP Records acknowledges Spice’s recent comments to the media. The label is hard at work finalizing the album and all the necessary clearances. Spice and VP have had great success with “So Mi Like It”, a popular EP release, and numerous hit singles such as Conjugal Visit featuring Vybz Kartel. VP Records looks forward to continuing that trend and to sharing more of Spice’s talent with the world in the form of her new album.”

Last week, Spice who has been tied up with VP Records since 2009, used her official Instagram page to issue a warning; “I want my album out now, or it’s war,” said the dancehall deejay.

According to the Love and Hip Hop reality star, she has been getting the runaround for 10 years and is fed up. Spice also said she is determined to get out of her contract with VP.

A long list of dancehall entertainers including Tanya Stephens, Ding Dong, and Gyptian have spoken out against the label.
