by August 3rd, 2018

Telecommunications giants Flow has pulled away from the ISSA schoolboy football competitions one month ahead of the start of the new season.

In the process Flow, formerly Lime, ended its historic five year sponsorship deal valued at $150 million with ISSA.

Flow also ended its support for the Flow Super Cup which started in 2014.

While no official reason was given by Flow for its decision not to continue supporting schoolboy football talks apparently broke down in recent times after the partnership had come to a contractual end in December 2017.

In the release issued by Flow the company said it had “embarked on a dynamic journey that extended beyond the conventional parameters of a commercial sponsorship”.

The release went on to add Flow “through our consistent involvement in the organizing process with ISSA over the period, we were able to contribute to the development of the School Boy Football programme and by extension local football, in a very tangible way”.

It added “the successes of our collaborative efforts include an improved standard of execution, heightened fan engagement and an intensified focus on the commercial viability of the league”.

Flow thanked ISSA, the schools, and all football fans for the overwhelming support throughout their five-year tenure as title sponsors and added they will continue to support the development of sports in Jamaica.
