Jamaica’s youth cricketers on Thursday registered their first win at the Regional Under 19 Three-Day competition in St. Vincent after completed an easy 7 wicket victory over the Windward Islands in their second round clash at Arnos Vale.
Resuming on their overnight 13 for 2 – and needing another 33 runs – the young Jamaicans sealed the formalities at 47 for 3 with Andre McCarthy unbeaten on 21 and Carlos Brown not out on 12.
Bryan Brown, the lone wicket to fall on the third and final day, made 7 before he was bowled by Jahseon Alexander.
Final scores: Windwards Islands 184 and 125, Jamaica 263 and 47-3.
Over at Park Hill, Leeward Islands chasing 249 for victory were dismissed for 158 to lose go down by 91 runs.
Scores: Barbados 249 and 239, Leeward Islands 239 and 158.
Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday completed a 9 wickets win over Guyana at Sion Hill.
Round three bowls off Saturday with Jamaica facing T&T, Guyana opposing Barbados and Leeward Islands squaring off with Windward Islands.
