Union concerned about how Dunns River management is conducting audit

by August 14th, 2018

One of the unions representing workers at Dunn’s River falls in St. Ann, has taken issue with the manner in which the management of the company is conducting an audit into the operations of the attraction.

An international specialist has been contracted to examine governance issues at the entity, and evaluate potential weaknesses or risk areas.

The investigation is allegedly in relation to fraud involving ticket sales at the facility.

President of the union of Clerical, Administrative and Supervisory Employees (UCASE), Vincent Morrison says workers were called to a meeting to further the probe, but were told they were attending a workshop.

He argues that proper procedure was not followed, and the workers should have been told the real reason for attending the meeting.

The St. Ann Development Company, a subsidiary of the Urban Development Corporation manages Dunn’s River Falls.

Mr. Morrison says he will be taking-up the issue with the UDC tomorrow, when he meets with the company’s Chairman, Ransford Braham.
