The Ministry of Education has announced that it will be operating 126 day care centres islandwide, at no cost to parents.

State minister, Floyd Green made that announcement last evening (Aug 19) at the South St. James education committee Grade Six Achievement award ceremony held at the Spring Field Baptist Church.

Mr. Green said this move forms part of the government’s quest to enhance the learning capabilities of children from zero to three years old.

He stated that, these day care centres which will be located in all 63 constituencies will be properly supervised and will come on stream in September.

The minister did not provide details on the locations of the centres.
