Race Course of Clarendon are 2018 SDC/T20 National Community Cricket Champions

Race Course of Clarendon are today still celebrating their second SDC/T20 National Community Cricket title.

This after a classical batting display saw them beating Westmoreland team Pertersville by 8 wickets in the rain affected final at the Port Rhoades Sports club in discovery Bay yesterday.

In the contest reduced to 14 overs per side due to intermittent showers, Pertersville batting first posted 124 for 4 with Raol Wynter hitting an unbeaten 28 runs, while national representative Derval Green and team-mate Travis Taylor added 24 runs apiece.

This against Keith Atkins who bagged 2 for 30.

Captain Hamlet Stewart then belted an unbeaten 74 and Wayne Davis cracked a quick fire 39 as race course chasing 125 runs to win eased to their target at 128 for 2 with one over and 5 balls to spare.

Race course pocketed 1.2 million dollars for their efforts and Stewart sung the praises of his players for a truly amazing season.

His opposite number captain Derval Green of Petersville said his team gave their all but it was just not good enough on the day.

Earlier the third place title was shared between port Antonio fire and Richmond Park who walked away with 225,000 dollars each.
