Flow service restored to St Catherine customers

by September 1st, 2018

Service has been restored to St. Catherine customers of telecommunications company Flow, following a disruption due to vandalism.

Over eight thousand Flow customers in had been without voice, internet, and TV services, because a secured manhole in Central Village was breached and some fibre cables set ablaze.

Both residential and business customers were impacted.

Director of Corporate Communications and stakeholder management at Flow, Kayon Mitchell, told Irie FM News that the technical team has completed restoration work.

Mrs. Mitchell said Flow continues to be plagued by acts of vandalism islandwide, but primarily in St. Catherine.

This latest act of vandalism comes just days after flow conducted a media tour across the corporate area where the company’s copper and fibre networks were repeatedly damaged by contractors engaged by the National Works Agency (NWA) to conduct road works.

Services have since been restored to about half of the affected customers.

She said Flow and the NWA have begun discussions about the matter.
