Reggae Boyz return after friendly defeat to Ecuador in New Jersey

Jamaica’s Reggae Boys are back home ahead of Sunday’s Concacaf Nations League encounter against Cayman Islands.

The team returned home early Saturday morning following a 2-0 loss to Ecuador in a friendly international at the Red Bulls Arena in New Jersey on Friday.

Enner Valencia, from the penalty spot in the 17th minute, and Renato Ibarra, in the 49th minute, were both on target for  the South Americans to hand the Reggae Boys their first defeat in 7 matches in 2018.

The Jamaicans, who debuted the new Umbro kit during the match, now turn their attention to their opening encounter in the Concacaf Nations League at the National Stadium on Sunday.

Jamaica following the fixture against Cayman Islands will then face Bonaire on October 14 before hosting Suriname on November 17.

The Theodore Whitmore coached team will close out the Nations League qualifying play-offs with an away meeting with Central American outfit El Salvador on March 23, 2019.
