Former west indies batting star Shivnarine Chanderpaul is the latest former ‘Windies player to lend support for the upcoming ICC Women’s World T20 Tournament.
Chanderpaul who played for the west indies for 21 years, has come on board for the ‘Windies ambassador programme, joining with other selected ambassadors who will make a variety of appearances from September to November.
Chanderpaul, who started playing for the ‘Windies at 19 years old….. also captained the West Indies team for 14 tests and 16 one day internationals.
Tournament Director Jennifer Nero has welcomed the Guyanese to the team.
It is the first time that The ICC women’s World T20, is being held as a stand-alone event this year, is scheduled for November 9 to 24 and will be held at the providence ground in Guyana, the Daren Sammy stadium in st Lucia and the sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
