by September 27th, 2018

The West Indies are now in India for their month long tour for the Test, One-day International (ODI) and T20 International series against the home side.

The first Test will be played in Rajkot from October 4, which will also be the city’s debut as a Test venue. The second match of the series will be played in Hyderabad. This will be followed by the limited-overs series.

On the team’s arrival, West Indies Cricket posted a video on twitter of the arrival with a message, “We got a vibrant welcome to the hotel earlier today with a display of India’s rich culture.”

The West Indians had a camp in Dubai, where they prepared for the tour on conditions, similar to what they would face in India.

Coach Stuart Law in a video posted on twitter by Windies Cricket said that he is confident that the Caribbean team will give tough competition to the top Test side in the world.

“Our top six are going to stick their hand up and score the big runs, they are capable of doing so. If we can put runs on the board we can create pressure by giving the bowlers something to work,” the former Australia batsman said

The Windies will open the tour on Saturday with a two-day match against a Board Presidents’ XI in Vadodara.

West Indies Test squad:

Jason Holder (capt), Sunil Ambris, Devendra Bishoo, Kraigg Brathwaite, Roston Chase, Shane Dowrich, Shannon Gabriel, Jahmar Hamilton, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Keemo Paul, Kieran Powell, Kemar Roach, Jomel Warrican.

The West Indies have played against India in 94 Tests since 1948, so far. In these matches, West Indies have won 30, lost 28 and drawn 46 matches.
