by September 27th, 2018

The Jamaica Defence Force is continuing the search for an alleged wanted man and his cronies in sections of St. James, following an incident earlier today (Sep 27) during which 2 soldiers were shot and wounded.

A statement from the JDF said Delano Wilmott, otherwise called Prekeh, who is wanted in connection with numerous shootings and murders, has been on the run since fleeing Montego Bay in the wake of the enhanced security operations.

Reports are that a joint police and military patrol team was in the Richmond Hill area at about 10:15 a.m. in search of Wilmot and other members of his gang.

The team attempted to arrest the wanted men, but was greeted with heavy gunfire from a variety of high-powered weapons, resulting in two members of the j-d-f patrol team being hit.

JDF Civil/Military Co-operation Officer Major Basil Jarrett told Irie FM News that the soldiers wounds are not thought to be life threatening.

Major Jarrett is imploring citizens with information on the wanted man to come forward.
