The suspect who was named as a person of interest in relation to the murder of a policewoman on the weekend has turned himself in.

53-year-old Barrington Whyte, otherwise called ‘Barry’ and ‘Drop’, of Farmbrook Avenue, Kingston 20 and Santa Hill district in Manchester, turned himself in to the police early this morning (Oct 2) with his attorney.

Police had asked Whyte to turn himself in, hours after the killing of his wife woman District Constable Melissa Edwards-Whyte on Saturday, September 29.

Investigators had reported earlier, that the policewoman was chopped and killed during a domestic dispute at her home at on Saturday evening.

She was assigned to crime stop.
