The Manchester police have launched a probe in the shooting of at least 5 persons – 2 fatally – in Mandeville this morning (Oct 13).

The Constabulary Communications unit confirmed the incident but has not yet provided details.

However, Irie FM News understands that about 11:30 a.m. a group of men was at a play field in the Three Chains community preparing for an event, when a white Nissan Tiida motorcar drove up and men alighted from the vehicle.

It’s further reported that the men brandished guns and opened fire at the group, then fled in the waiting car.

The wounded persons were rushed to hospital where 2 died while the others were admitted.

Their identities have not been ascertained.
