The Independent Commission of Investigations (Indecom) is probing an incident in which a 7 year old child was shot and wounded, in Kingston, this morning (Oct 26).

Reports are that at about 1:30 this morning, police responded to explosions heard in Hundred community and upon reaching a section of White Hall Avenue, they came under gunfire.

Assistant Commissioner of Indecom Hamish Campbell, says the police returned the fire, and the gunmen escaped on foot.

Mr. Campbell says it is unclear as to who shot the child.
