West Indies cricketers level ODI series against India …after winning the third ODI today

The West Indies cricketers led by Shai Hope with the bat and Marlon Samuels with the ball put in a magnificent all round performance this morning  to beat India by 43 runs in the third One Day International in Pune.

The series levelling victory was first orchestrated by hope who missed out on a century, after he plotted his way to a solid 95, to help the West Indies post a challenging 283 for 9 from their allotted 50 overs.

Hope’s half century came off 113 balls, and included 6 fours and 3 sixes, and he also shared in a sixth wicket partnership worth 76 runs with captain Jason Holder who scored 32.

Ashley Nurse who scored 40 and Shimron Hetmeyer 37 were the other better scorers in double figures.

This against Jasprith Bumrah who finished with 4 for 35 and Kuldeep Yadav 2 for 52.

Chasing 284 runs to win India crashed to 240 all out in 47 overs and 4 balls, with Samuels snatching 3 for 12 to help restrict the home side.

Captain Virat Kholi smashed 107 runs …………his 38th ODI century to become the first Indian batsman to score three consecutive century in one day international cricket.

Shakir Dhawan chipped in with 35 and Rishbah Pant supported with 24.

There were two wickets each for Ashley Nurse, Obed Mckoy and Holder.

Holder had high praises for his troops following today’s performance.

In the meantime, losing Captain Virat Kholi said the total to win was not entirely out of their reach, but accepted that the West Indies were deserving winners on the day.

The series is now tied at one all, following the second game which ended in a tie.

The fourth match is set for Mumbai on Monday.
