Soca star Machel Montano has expressed delight after his 67-year-old mother was awarded a Master’s Degree in Cultural Studies.

Over the weekend, Elizabeth Montano graduated from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine in Trinidad.

In an Instagram post, the soca singer shared a photo of his mom’s special moment.

Machel Montano wrote in part; “What a proud moment for my family!! Congratulations to my Mother @ladyelena_ on receiving her Master of Philosophy degree in Cultural Studies (MPhil) from UWI, St. Augustine Campus.”
