by November 8th, 2018

The Westmoreland police are carrying out a high level probe into the quadruple murder this morning (Nov 8).

The police say they believe that the killings could have been carried out by members of the Kings Valley gang who have been terrorizing sections of the parish.

Those killed are brothers: 31 year old mechanic Howard Humes, 33 year old farmer Paulton Humes, and 23-year-old Shavane Humes, as well as the spouse of one of the brothers, 25-year-old Keneisha Wilson.

Reports that about 1:15 this morning, residents living in the Masemure community, alerted the police after hearing gunshots coming from the direction of where the Humes family reside.

Upon the arrival of the police, the four were seen suffering from gunshot wounds.

A 5 year old child was the only occupant who was spared by the gunmen.

Community members, family and close friends of the victims, expressed their shock at the gruesome quadruple murder, which they say is the first of its kind in the community.

Pheona Malcolm – Campbell, mother of the slain woman, was broken up about the incident. She says her daughter was innocent.

And, Kenneth Wilson, who is the father of the slain woman told Irie FM News, that the Humes family had been receiving threats.

Head of the Westmoreland police, Superintendent Gary McKenzie says the police are hoping for a quick breakthrough into the murders.
