Police & JDF probe video depicting persons dressed in military uniform committing crime

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is investigating a video recording showing persons dressed in Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) military uniform, committing a crime.

In a release issued on the incident, the JDF says it is aware of the video and is cooperating and supporting the police, in its investigations.

The video, recorded on CCTV cameras, appears to show four armed men attempting to enter a premises.

Two of the men appear to be dressed in military garments including helmets and were armed with rifles.

The men have been accused of a string of break-ins and other robberies.

The JDF says it takes very seriously any action that impugns the reputation of the organization directly or indirectly, and is assuring the public, that the Defence Force is committed to upholding its core values as it continues to serve the nation.

As such, the public is encouraged to report any suspicious or criminal activity by persons wearing military uniform.
