Commanding Officer for the St. Andrew South police division Superintendent Gary Francis has indicated that the police have been working to dismantle several gangs operating in the division.

Speaking yesterday (Nov 9) at a press conference, Superintendent Francis noted the top 10 gangs in the division.

He said the Shabba gang, and the Blingers gang, are responsible for about 15 shootings, and 7 murders in the division.

The alleged leader of the Shabba gang Christopher Armstrong, otherwise called Shabba, as well as Dwayne Hall, also called Pops / Crazy- Crazy / Killy- Killy, an alleged member of the rival gang, Blingers, were killed during confrontations with police in separate incidents in Kingston, on Thursday.
