Jamaica’s former world boxing champion Nicholas the ‘axeman’ Walters has welcomed the establishment of the Jamaica Boxing Board second national Gym in Montego Bay recently .

This comes after the board launched its second gloves over guns fight card at the Montego Bay Cricket Club where an MOU was signed for the gym to be housed on the property.

The fight card which is scheduled for Saturday November 17, will see Jamaica taking on five amateur boxers from Canada as well as there will be three other fights including elite boxers.

Walters welcomed the staging of the fight card in the parish and encouraged everyone to come out and support the event

The national gym in Montego Bay meanwhile is projected to be up and running by January of the New Year.

It will not be fully outfitted by then ……..but should have some training materials such as a ring and bags – Job Walters will be in charge of the gym.
