West Indies crashes to embarrassing 64 run loss inside three days against Bangladesh

The West Indies crashed to an embarrassing 64 run loss inside three days in the first test against Bangladesh who were led by an impressive six wicket haul from Taijul Islam in Chittagong today.

Resuming on their overnight 55 for 5 with a lead of 133 runs on day three, Bangladesh added only 70 runs to their overnight tally and were skittled out for 125, with Madullah making a top score of 31.

This against the spin of Davendra Bishoo who snatched  4 for 26, while Roston Chase took three wickets and Jomel Warrican 2.

Chasing 203 runs to win the ‘Windies crumbled to 139 all out with Sunil Ambris top scoring with 43 and Warrican supporting with 41.

Taijul bagged 6 for 33 while  Shakib al Hasan bagged 2 for 30 which also made him the first from his country to 200 test wickets.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz also picked up two to round out a superb performance by the Bangladeshi spinners.

Final scores in the game Bangladesh 324 and 125, the West Indies 246 and 139.

The second and final test will be played in Mirpur next week.
