The Councillor for the St. Ann’s Bay Division, in the St. Ann Municipal Corporation, has expressed satisfaction with plans by the National Housing Trust to repair roadways in some housing schemes in the parish.

The NHT notified the corporation last week that just under $145 m will be spent to rehabilitate roads in the Moneague, Mt. Edgecombe and Seville Heights housing schemes.

Work is expected to begin early next year.

The NHT stated that the pre-tender estimate for the rehabilitation of the roadways in Mt. Edgecombe is $16 m, for Moneague its $48 m, while the roadway in Seville Heights is set at $80 m.

Councillor Dallas Dickinson said the roadway in the Seville Heights housing scheme has been in a deplorable state for a long time and he is happy that it will be getting some attention now.
