by December 17th, 2018

In-form West Indies opener Shai Hope has moved up 17 spots to a career-best 8th on the latest release of the MRF Tyres ICC One Day International Rankings for batsmen.

It comes after his good form with the bat in the recently concluded three-match One Day International series against Bangladesh where he slammed back-to-back centuries while topping the runs charts with 297 runs.

The 25 year old, who has a career-best 780 ranking points, is 5 behind 7th ranked Faf Du Plessis and 11 behind 6th ranked David Warner.

India’s Virat Kohli leads the rankings on 899 ratings points followed by teammate Rohit Sharma, Ross Taylor, Joe Root and Babar Azam.

Shimron Hetmyer, the only other West Indian in the top 50, slid 14 places to 40 while Keemo Paul was the biggest mover after shooting up 96 places to no.188 among batsmen.

The 21 year old is also up 28 to 146 among bowlers and up 43 to no.151 among all-rounders.

Spinner Ashley Nurse is the highest ranked West Indies bowler at 38 while India’s Jasprit Bumrah occupies top spot on 841 points.
