A rock & a hard place: Junction road project stalled

by December 28th, 2018

Challenges with hard rock foundations and land acquisition have reportedly stalled the Junction road rehabilitation project in St. Mary.

The roadway is a major connecting corridor between the north coast and Kingston, and works to repair it began some months ago, with traffic restrictions implemented in a bid to manage the motoring public during construction activities.

National Works Agency (NWA) Senior Communications Officer Ramona Lawson, explained that there are problems with the rock embankment.

She said the rehabilitation work is about 24 percent complete.
