Like many Vybz Kartel supporters, the lawyers representing the incarcerated dancehall deejay are anxiously awaiting a judgment following his appeal trial.

Six months ago, both Kartel and Shawn Storm along with two others made an appeal against their murder convictions and life sentences in the Supreme Court.

Attorney at law Bert Samuels tells Music News that the legal team is optimistic.

Vybz Kartel and Shawn Storm, along with two others were convicted of the killing of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams at a house in Havendale, St Andrew, in August 2011.

They were all given the mandatory life sentences with Vybz Kartel ordered to serve 35 years before he is eligible for parole; while Sean Storm will be eligible for parole in 25 years.

In July last year, several attorneys appeared before the Court of Appeal, seeking to overturn the convictions and sentences.
