US Reggae Bands hit Jamaican soil

US reggae bands Rebelution and The Green performed to an enthusiastic crowd at the Jewel Paradise Cove in Runaway Bay, St. Ann on Tuesday.

Rebelution who currently sits in the number 2 position on the Billboard Top Reggae Albums Chart with their latest release Free Rein, had the crowd singing-along and cheering throughout their set.

The annual event dubbed the Bright Side Festival also featured an engaging set from Jamaica’s Raging Fyah.

The Green who’s sound is a blend of dub-heavy roots reggae, mixed with smooth lovers’ rock, contemporary pop and rock had the patrons at Jewel Paradise Cove grooving.

The Green was formed in Hawaii in 2009, while Rebelution, a reggae rock music band formed in California has done collabs with local reggae acts such as Protoje, Keznamdi, and Lutan Fyah.

Both US Reggae Bands in an exclusive interview with IRIE FM say plans are in the pipeline to do more work on the island.
