Jamaica’s 26-year-old left-handed opening batsman John Campbell is one of two uncapped players named in the west indies 13 man squad for the first test against England which starts next week Wednesday at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
30 year old Shamarh brooks is the other uncapped player in the squad for which fast bowler Alzarri Joseph and middle-order batsman Darren Bravo have been recalled.
Jamaican pacer Oshane Thomas gets a look-in as he has been named as cover for Joseph who is returning from injury and captain Jason Holder returns after missing the recent series in India and Bangladesh.
The full squad for the first test in the Wisden trophy series is captain Jason holder, Kraig Brathwaite, Darren bravo, Shamarh Brooks, John Campbell, Roston Chase, Shane Dowrich, Shannon Gabriel, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Kemar Roach and Jomel Warrican.
The second test at the Sir Vivian Richards cricket ground in Antigua is on January 31 to February 4, with the 3rd and final test at the Darren Sammy ground from February 9 to 13.
