by January 19th, 2019

The former JUTC employee accused of driving a bus out of a depot was arrested today (Jan 19), when he made a second attempt to take another bus.

In a statement, the Jamaica Urban Transit Company limited said the suspect once again attempted to take over another bus in South Parade, Downtown, today.

He was taken to the Central police station and later transferred to Rockfort police station where he is expected to be charged.

In the previous incident last month, the former staff member drove away a bus from one of the company’s depots.

He subsequently got into an accident with a motor car in Grants Pen, causing minor damage to the car.

The JUTC launched a wide scale investigation into the incident, engaging retired Assistant Commissioner of Police Granville Gause.

The JUTC said it continues to monitor the situation.
