Captains LeBron & Giannis headline 2019 All-Star starters

LA Lakers star LeBron James and Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo will serve as team captains at the 2019 NBA All-Star Game after both received the most votes in their respective conferences.

James, who led all players in voting, is joined on western conference starter pool by Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, James Harden and Paul George who won a tiebreaker over Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans.

In the East the starter pool is completed by Kawhi Leonard, Joel Embiid, Kemba Walker & Kyrie Irving.

James and Antetokounmpo as captains will be tasked with drafting the All-Star Game rosters from the pool of players voted as starters and reserves in each conference.

Reserves will be determined by a vote of NBA head coaches and will be announced on January 31.

The 2019 NBA All-Star Game takes place on February 17 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
