by February 1st, 2019

A  St. Ann based vector control inspector remains in critical condition at hospital, following an accident on Sunday morning in the vicinity of the Reynolds Pier in Ocho Rios.

The worker received severe burns to his body, while two other workers attached to the North Eastern Regional Health Authority (NERHA) were also injured in the accident.

One of them has minor burns. They have been released from hospital.

Police say four persons from the other vehicle involved in the crash were also injured in the accident, which occurred between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m.

Investigations are continuing into how the accident occurred.

Regional Director at NERHA Fabia Lamm says the workers were carrying out a fogging exercise, when the accident occurred.

The impact caused an explosion.

She says counselling has been offered to colleagues, and the authority has reached out to the families of the workers.
