Jamaican batting superstar Chris Gayle is back in West Indies’ squad

Jamaican batting superstar Chris Gayle is back in West Indies’ squad.

The global batting meastro was named in the squad for the first two one day international against England.

The 39-year-old opener last played for West Indies during the home ODI series against Bangladesh in July 2018.

Gayle is among four Jamaicans named in the line-up, with the others being batsman Rovman Powell and bowlers Fabian Allen and Oshane Thomas.

Nicholas Pooran, meanwhile, has been called up to the ODI squad for the first time.

The left-hand batsman has impressed with his shot-making ability in the eight T/20International he has played so far, most notably while cracking an unbeaten 53 off 25 balls against India

The ODI series begins on February 20 at the Kensington oval in Barbados.

The full  West Indies squad reads captain- Jason holder, Fabian Allen, Devendra Bishoo, Darren Bravo, Chris Gayle, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Evin Lewis, Ashley Nurse, Keemo Paul, Nicholas Pooran, Rovman Powell, Kemar Roach and Oshane Thomas.
