West Indies, thanks to another dominant all-round performance by the in-form Deandra Dottin, demolished Pakistan by 146 runs in the first ever women’s One Day International to be played at the Dubai International Stadium. This to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Batting first the Windies, who won the toss, piled up a challenging 216 for 5 from their allotment of 50 overs.
Dottin, named player of the recently concluded T20 series, continued her good run of form by slamming a brilliant 96 off 139 balls that included 8 fours and 2 sixes.
She also put on 146 for the second wicket with returning captain Stafanie Taylor, West Indies’ fifth highest in ODIs.
Taylor would go on to make 58 before she was dismissed by Kainat Imtiaz who led the Pakistani attack with 3 for 49.

Pakistan in their reply were bundled out for just 70 in 29.5 overs with Dottin bagging 3 for 14.
Nahidia Khan (23) and stand-in captain Javeria Khan (21), were the only Pakistan batters to get into double figures.
Afy Fletcher (3-17) was the other leading West Indian bowler in the match.
Final scores, West Indies Women 216 for 5, Pakistan 70 all out.
West Indies with the result gain two ICC championship points.
Game two will be at the ICC Academy Ground on Saturday with game three at the same venue on Monday.
