Shaggy and Sting win Reggae Grammy with 44/876

Messages of congratulations continue to flood social media for Shaggy and Sting after they cop the Grammy on Sunday for Best Reggae Album.

Minister of Culture, Entertainment and Sport Olivia Grange, Maxi Priest, Tarrus Riley, and Bounty Killer were among the many social media users who used the various online platforms to post congratulatory messages.

Shaggy and Sting’s collaborative album 44/876 which features Aidonia and Morgan Heritage, won the coveted title ahead of Ziggy Marley, Etana, Protoje, and Black Uhuru.

Shaggy in his acceptance speech, thanked the other nominees and had special big up for Etana who created history being the first female to be nominated for a Reggae Grammy since 1997.

The win marks Sting’s first Reggae Grammy, and Shaggy’s second win. In 1996, Shaggy won the Reggae Grammy for his album Bombastic.
