Roston Chase biggest Windies mover on ICC Test Batting Rankings

All-rounder Roston Chase, fresh from his century in the just concluded third Test against England, has moved up 10 places to number 41 on the MRF Tyres ICC Rankings for Test batsmen.

Chase, 13th among all-rounders, is the third highest West Indian on the list behind Kraigg Brathwaite (35) and Jason Holder (36).

India’s Virat Kohli continues to hold the no.1 spot ahead of Kane Williamson, Cheteshwar Pujara, Steve Smith and England captain Joe Root who made a match-defining 122 in England’s second innings against the West Indies.

Holder who missed the third Test in St. Lucia through suspension, continues to lead the rankings for all-rounders and is also the top ranked Windies bowler despite falling two spots to 8th.

Kemar Roach is up a place to 11th while Shannon Gabriel is down 2 to 13th.

Top spot meanwhile is held by South African pacer Kagiso Rabada with Pat Cummins, James Anderson, Vernon Philander and Ravindra Jadeja completing the top 5.

Over on the rankings for teams, the Windies gained 7 points to move up to 77 but remain in the number 8 spot after completing a 2-1 series win over England.

England meanwhile are down to 5th on 104 rating points.

India, South Africa and New Zealand round out the top 3 places.
